Sallust was a Roman Historian, best known for his narrative writings on political personalities, corruption, and party rivalry. His Opera encompasses several works including the famous War Against Catiline and The Jugurthine War, the former a plot devised by the Roman Senator Catiline who planned overthrow the Roman Senate. Sallust characterized Caitiline as a symbol of the moral decline of Rome.
