The letter retains the last paragraph of a letter to an unknown recipient and reads “Was it not a scene on the Division being announced last night? “Save us from our friends” may well be on the lips of convinced suffragists”. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOn 28th March 1912, the UK House of Commons debated and defeated the Conciliation Bill (Parliamentary Franchise Women Bill), which would have granted limited voting rights to women.
