An original pen, ink, and watercolour illustration (7.5 x 11cm) showing a bumblebee tentatively emerging out of a blue bird’s egg shell; against a yellow wash background, outlined in red; contained within an olive-green mount (30.5 x 22.5) itself outlined in blue, gold and red; fine.
Painted especially for Fold the Corner in May 2026, and signed by the artist to the lower left hand corner. The image originally appeared in Van Sandwyk’s series ‘Life is Grand’ in c.2018, but is present here with ‘a kinder face’.
